Swakopmund is surrounded by dunes and desert and it is close to the mouth of the Swakop River. The coastal road flanked by dunes on the one side and by the Atlantic Ocean on the other is very impressive. The city offers splendid buildings, a wonderful town promenade, the aquarium and many more.
